The rapid rise of digital nomadism has posed significant challenges to income tax regulations, raising the question: how can Brazil effectively tax digital nomads, considering their mobility and lack of a fixed residence? To explore this hypothesis, a bibliographic and documentary research was conducted, analyzing Brazilian regulations, international treaties, and OECD actions, as well as the tax practices of other countries. The initial findings suggest that Brazil’s tax system still faces significant gaps, particularly regarding the definition of tax residency and permanent establishment for these transnational workers.
